Promoting Healthy Lifestyles through Learning Organic Chemistry

Abstract

Based onobservations from Pedagogical and Didactic Practice I, this pedagogical innovation proposal aims to implement a didactic unit focused on promoting healthy lifestyles through learning Organic Chemistry. This initiative targets specific topics covered in eleventh grade at Cultura Popular Public School in Bogotá. The selected course for this study was 1102, which included the participation of 32 students. The research method is qualitative, aiming to implement theunit through four class sessions with four activities. These activities are designed to demonstrate that approaching this type of chemistry through everyday applications not only encourages and motivates learning by facilitating conceptual change but also enables students to reflect and adopt new practices for better quality of life and greater physical and mental well-being in terms of health.
