Environmental education and early childhood education in Brazilian theses & dissertations (2000 - 2020): among the simplistic and conservative approaches, the urgency of social criticismo
Abstract
The focus of this research is Environmental Education in Early Childhood Education and presents the literature review of Theses & Dissertations published in Brazil, between 2000 and 2020. The productions were collected in the Bank of Theses and Dissertations of the IBICT, analyzed qualitatively and discussed based on theoretical references in Environmental Education. The main analysis criteria that emerged from the literature in the area and from the data are: (1) recognition of the element responsible for the development of Critical Environmental Education teaching; (2) the consideration of the analysis and understanding of reality, promoted by the teaching mediator; (3) the development of social praxis. The results show that most of the research produced present a conservative and simplistic bias of Environmental Education in Early Childhood Education.
