An environmental education process on strengthening the care of wildlife in some areas of the Aburrá Valley and Belmira
Abstract
Wildlife care is an issue that should be addressed broadly and transversally with all types of communities, from formal education to informal education through pedagogical and outreach strategies. In this way, the objective of this work is to raise awareness about wildlife conservation in some areas of the Aburrá Valley and Belmira through educational intervention that promote a contribution to the care of different species.
A distributed questionnaire based on Fishbein and Ajzen's (1975) theory of planned behavior was designed and applied to carry out a diagnosis. The educational intervention was then applied, designed in five moments where concepts, problems, regulations, perceptions, and reflections on wildlife care were addressed, evaluating throughout the moments the mobilization of the participants' perceptions of the central problem. The results show a reconfiguration in the beliefs about the ecosystemic role and conservation of wildlife in each territory, understanding the direct and indirect consequences they cause in the lives of the participants and in the habitat. The study served as an approach to this topic and for reflection on our role as teachers in training.
