Social representations regarding threats and risks by the rural communities of the municipalities of guaduas and Sibaté, Cundinamarca
Abstract
This research was oriented to identify the social representations about Risks and Threats held by some inhabitants of the municipalities of Guaduas and Sibaté, Cundinamarca. The target population of the study was 26 farmers from rural areas. It was a mixed research focused on three phases: identification, review and analysis of the information provided by the community. Most of the results obtained are in line with the conclusions of the report issued by the World Bank in 2012, in which an analysis of disaster risk management in Colombia is made. Likewise, a call is made to implement education in integral risk management as an opportunity and initiative to contribute to its mitigation, considering that clear information and the construction of knowledge in the community in a timely manner is decisive in the reduction of any risk and threat.
