Resumen
Colombia is a tropical country with one of the biggest biological diversity of the world.
But much of this biodiversity is being irreversibly Iost through extinction caused by the
destruction of natural habitats. The social and political problems in the area increase the
problem. The implication and scientific, educational, social and economic impact of the
faunistic surveys are commented.
