Abstract

The research had the general objective of analyzing the conceptions of curriculum and action research, in the initial formation of graduates in Biological Sciences, considered the question: "What indications of constitution of the concept of curriculum, by the licenciandos in Biological Sciences, are evidenced in the action-research process ?; and "processes of initial formation, mediated by research-training-action, in a curricular component of teaching practice, allow the graduates critical dialogues that (re) mean the conceptions of curriculum." The training movements experienced by the subjects (seventeen graduates) were recorded in narrative writings (Carniatto, 2002; Chaves, 2000; Reis, 2004, 2008) in logbooks that facilitate the reflective process (Alarcão, 2010; Zabalza, 1994; Porlán e Martín, 1997). Action research, on-board diary and narrative writing made it possible to research in teaching practice to interweave theory and practice, to constitute the reflexive professional, to train and teach in Science and Biology, for the reflection and re-signification of curriculum concepts. The definition of key words summed up excerpts from narrative writing as marks of curriculum conceptions extracted from the logbooks and identified ideas and themes that were references to future curriculum research. The most frequent in all reflexive cycles were: Document (24), Content (20), Grid (13), Organization (7), Disciplines (7), Education (6), Training (6), Ideology (5), Culture (4), Identity (4), Theory (4), Matter (3) and Methodology (3). Thus, curriculum conceptions are our creations rooted in cultural, discursive and practical realities, signified by us, in the interactions, ideas, values or expressed expectations.
