Abstract

Colombia presents high rates of biodiversity and cultural richness throughout its territory, this condition forces the educational sector to address the nature-society-culture relationship and to permeate different State instances and particularly educational institutions, which make this possible. articulation both in the school curriculum, as in educational practices, and in the formation of pro-environmental values of citizens. Hence the relevance of the discussion around school environmental education to develop new didactics, pedagogical innovations and public policies. The objective of this document is to evaluate the bibliographic production in the area of environmental education with emphasis on the Colombian school, during the last 20 years. The search focused on the WoS, Scielo, Scopus and Redalyc databases. 52 bibliographic documents were found. There is a growing trend in bibliographic production, with a production peak in 2020, although it is low for the broad community of school teachers. The documents are dispersed in 38 scientific journals, most of which are national in nature and published in Spanish. The magazine with the most frequent publications was Luna Azul edited by the University of Caldas. Most studies are isolated, with little public policy implications, replication, comparison, or analysis across multiple institutions. There is also no continuous production of documents by teachers. Therefore, it is pertinent to formulate an educational system that integrates dissemination spaces, the formation of editorial groups, support for academic writing training programs and the structuring of nodes and leaders in each of the country's territorial entities.
