Design and Implementation of a Didactic Sequence Related to a Socio-Scientific Issue
Abstract
The research was carried out with the objective of designing and testing a didactic sequence that had as its central axis the socio-scientific issue “Transgenic Foods” and with activities associated with the processes of inquiry, argumentation and debate supported with the use of ict. The above derived from what Revel et al. (2021), cited by Hernández-Sarabia (2022) and Bahamonde (2014), point out that students have problems inquiring, arguing, making decisions and debating. The methodology developed was mixed in nature with a pragmatic approach. Bibliography was reviewed regarding the axis and the activities included in the didactic sequence. A teacher implemented it, there was constant communication with him and an unstructured interview was carried out. A questionnaire was administered to the students. For students to improve their learning, the results show, according to Tobón et al. (2010); Guerrero (2011) and Díaz-Barriga (2013) that, when implementing a didactic sequence with activities organized based on a didactic purpose, supported by a study program, appropriate to the cognitive level of the students and of socio-scientific relevance, it is also necessary the accompaniment and timely intervention of the teacher.
