Historical Voices of the National Pedagogical Institute
Abstract
This article is part of the dissertation submitted for obtaining the degree of Specialist in Pedagogy in the line of History of Education. The paper presents the trends in pedagogy and educational policies from different periods of the National Pedagogical Institute, as well as the reasons that led to their creation. The Institute’s relationship with the Government and its link with Universidad Pedagógica Nacional tells of the ideals that have marked the history of education and the training of teachers at the institute, in the country and in Latin America. Trends such as the active school, and processes like the technology of education are some of the core ideas around which the educational practices and policies of the National Pedagogical Institute were built. The nuances found in the historical records of the school from 1927 to the 1980s are described using the methodological tool of historiographic balance.
