Paper publication process

In February and August of each year, Folios selects the papers corresponding to the issue to be published in January and June of the following semester. Once the paper is approved, there is a three-step process: proofreading, layout, and publication. The paper undergoes a careful copyediting & proofreading by professionals. The proofreader makes formal corrections and change suggestions to the text, as well as a thorough review of the APA system for titles, citations, and references in order to correct or request information, if necessary. The paper is also reviewed from a point of view of metadata, in order to suggest possible improvements to the title, authors, abstract, and keywords. After this step, the paper is sent to the author(s) of the paper, who will provide the required information and either approve or reject the suggested changes. After the proofreading, the paper moves to the layout process, which is carried out by professionals in the field. The layout is done according to the galley proof designed for the journal. Once this is done, each paper is reviewed by the editorial team to correct any layout errors or typos. With the editorial team’s approval, each paper is published in the journal platform of Universidad Pedagógica Nacional.
